Can changing my mindset, change my reality?

Can changing my mindset, change my reality? This is a question I often get in my consultations. I have recently been working with a 49 year old male whom desires success and all the material pleasures that comes with it. For years he believed that he had what it took but the results weren’t evident. It was causing him great frustration. He had been held back by familial expectations and the need to please those around him by doing what’s best for the greater family. Deep down however, there was a deep seated resentment. Resentment for the lack of love, support and unwavering belief that was never there in his early years. These memories etched in his subconscious has in part determined so many choices that he has made since. Three sessions in, and he has uncovered exactly what has been holding him back from achieving his life vision. It is never too late for you to change your reality.

The purpose of changing your mindset, to change your reality

It is evident in life around us that change is inevitable and constantly needed. This is, should we wish to create a sustainable environment in which we as humans can thrive. There are constant advancements and upgrades to our infrastructure, the land and in technology. So let me ask you this, “Why don’t we as humans choose to change and upgrade the thought patterns ingrained from our early years that don’t serve us anymore?” Why do we perceive it as weak to seek the assistance of professionals to upgrade our minds. To create our version 2.0 or even 3.0.

The purpose of accepting change allows you to live your life by your own terms. To gain a sense of mindfulness that allows you to always be in control of your thoughts and emotions. To let go of ego which prevents one from having meaningful relationships and taking action towards their goals.

Your mindset and behavior are both essential components of success. Your mindset can be a powerful tool in helping you to reach your goals. It affects how you view yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. It’s also crucial in how you approach challenges and handle adversity. To be the best, you have to have a great sense of self-awareness so that you can spot your fears, doubts, challenges and weaknesses and work on it immediately.

Action steps to make the necessary changes

  • The first step is to recognize that you need to change something in your life.
  • Seek help from a professional that can guide you and give you the necessary tools and knowledge to start implementing the change
  • Practice more mindfulness in your day by incorporating meditation or pockets of quiet time to reflect
  • Read self-development books which will give you broad perspective on how you can start thinking differently as well as what to look out for within yourself.
  • Follow content that is geared to what you want to experience and focus on.

It is never too late to craft the life of your dreams. All it takes is a leap of faith, a dollop of belief and unwavering determination.
