Low self-esteem is when someone lacks confidence about who they are and what they can do. Do you sometimes feel incompetent, unloved or inadequate? Do you consistently feel afraid about making mistakes or letting other people down?

Unfortunately in life, low self-esteem is often attributed to genetics or people’s perceptions of you being projected onto you during the course of your childhood. With influences from family, school life, communities and religious institutions the experiences you had played a major role in how you see yourself today.

Through this behaviour, they were made to feel inferior to others. Over time and through constant repetition it became your belief in yourself too.

Beliefs are very powerful in how you see yourself and the world around you. It is responsible for your thoughts which affects your mental state. Your inner voice, or the thoughts in your head, can be constantly telling you that you are not good enough or worth anything, even if there is evidence to the contrary.
